Time to Mix it Up!

Hey friends! In case you hadn't noticed, I updated the header to my blog. No longer is "My life as a young wife. My favorite recipes, dishes and decor ideas. Some developed by me, others by my favorite cooks, friends and designers. All are fun, easy and husband-approved." Phew, that was a mouthful, wasn't it?

Anyhoo, as I've been continuously working toward a healthy life - and a balance in all things - I decided I wanted to expand the parameters of the blog. As you can see, I'm still "finding my way in the kitchen" (hello new recipes!), but I'm also "doing my best to balance family, food, fitness and fun" because, well, I am!

More than that, I love writing the intros to my food posts, so I thought I would see how it goes for me to develop a few new segments on the blog that are not related to recipes. Don't get me wrong, I will continue to try and develop new recipes (and post them here) - I could never stop doing that! But, I thought it would be fun to mix it up.

So here are my thoughts...and be forewarned I have a major minor obsession with alliteration. I blame my 7th grade English teacher! And who doesn't love alliteration? I've even taught my darling first graders about it!

*My Life Mondays: Catching you up on what's going on in my life. I am beyond grateful and humbled by all the kind words you showed with my post Too Close to Home, about John's mugging and attack. While I hope, and pray, there are no more posts like that, I will share something that is going on in our lives at the time.
Ok so we haven't been on the lake in months...thank you midwest, winter...but a girl can start dreaming now, right?
*What I Ate Wednesdays: This creative idea is not my own. Peas and Crayons, a new blog I've been following, started this little phenomenon, which the blog community has eaten up (pun intended - I'm so funny!). I thought I would give it a try. Why not?

part of one of the BEST meals EVER, thanks to my Aunt Pam & Uncle Russ who specially arranged it on our honeymoon!
*Fit Fridays: During these posts I plan to share a workout I've done (and loved, obviously!), a new healthy recipe, some fitness tips, healthy living/fitness blogs I'm following, interesting articles or anything related to fitness.
Snuba is exercise! (And another honeymoon picture I wanted to share!)
So what do you think? Do you have opinions (good or bad)? Are you ready to tell me to stop talking writing, already? (Thank my dad for my journalism degree!). Let me know! And thanks for reading! :)
